Quant-Rho® FITC anti-D (CD240D)
To ensure appropriate anti-D prophylaxis, BCSH Guidelines for
the estimation of fetomaternal haemorrhage and AABB Standards recommend
confirmation of the volume of the fetal bleed. Quant-Rho® is
a FITC-labeled monoclonal anti-D (CD240D) intended for use on a
flow cytometer. As an alternative to the Kleihauer-Braun-Betke
(KBB)
acid elution
and anti-HbF flow cytometric methods for quantifying a fetomaternal
hemorrhage (FMH). Quant-Rho, similar to the anti-HbF flow cytometric
method, offers the advantage of providing more accurate and reproducible
results than those obtained from the KBB test. Since it only detects
RhD-positive cells, it is particularly useful in patients with
high levels of HbF either as a second marker or an alternate approach
to anti-HbF staining. The procedure for use is simple and quick,
requiring no fixation or permeablization steps- just stain, wash,
and run.
Key Benefits
- Quant-Rho is CE marked in compliance with the IVD
Directive and has been cleared by the FDA as an IVD for measurement
of fetomaternal hemorrhage.
- Detecting only RhD-positive cells makes it useful in
distinguishing RhD-negative maternal F-cells from RhD-positive
fetal cells.
- Reagent is bottled ready-to-use in 5mL vials (100 tests)
and has a 2-yr shelf life.
- Since the D-antigen is a surface antigen, RBC fixation
and permeablization is not necessary.
- Compatible with Trillium’s FETALtrol as a system
control material.
